The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, identified as Abdullaziz Mohammed, for allegedly assaulting a five-year-old girl in the Mubi North Local Government Area.
In a press statement, the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sulieman Yahaya Nguroje, reported that the suspect was apprehended following a complaint made by the victim’s father at the Mubi North Divisional Police Headquarters.
According to Nguroje, on March 27, 2025, the suspect lured the child into his grinding engine shop in Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi North, where he is accused of committing the crime, fully aware of her minor status.
Upon receiving the report, CP Dankombo Morris promptly ordered police operatives from the Mubi Division to take immediate action, resulting in the suspect’s arrest. The victim was quickly taken to a medical facility in Mubi for examination and treatment.
Nguroje also mentioned that during interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime and has been taken into custody for further investigation.
CP Morris Dankombo strongly condemned the incident and directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
