Kerry Washington recently shared her thoughts when asked to choose between Ghanaian and Nigerian jollof rice.

The ongoing “jollof wars” among Ghana, Nigeria, and Senegal have sparked fierce debates over which country makes the best version of the beloved dish.

While attending an event, Kerry was prompted to weigh in on the matter, to which she replied, “Don’t bring me into this. Don’t bring me into this.”

However, she humorously added, “But of course, anything Naija is going to be better. It’s Naija. That is the truth.”

Kerry is married to Nigerian former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha. During the interview, she revealed that her husband and her co-star Omar Sy often engage in lively discussions about Senegalese versus Nigerian jollof.

She acknowledged that many claim jollof originated in Senegal, to which her husband does not subscribe.

“Yeah, they do say that. But ask Nnamdi, he does not believe it,” she said, laughing.
