Hollywood actress Bai Ling has promised to reveal the names of A-list celebrities she has been romantically involved with in her upcoming memoir, My Outrageous Romances In Hollywood.
The Crow and Southland Tales star, who immigrated from China to the U.S. in 1991, is preparing to share intimate details of her high-profile relationships spanning four decades.
Ling, 58, has already confirmed that actor Mickey Rourke will be featured in the book, along with other famous figures who will leave readers “shocked.”
“They will be nervous. I will be nervous. It will be shocking. It is a story I need to tell,” the Chengdu-born actress said in an interview with The U.S. Sun.
Over the years, Ling has been romantically linked to comedian Bill Maher, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, four-time Grammy winner Lionel Richie, and musician Chris Isaak, among others.
With a Hollywood career dating back to 1984, she has worked alongside some of the industry’s biggest stars, including Will Smith, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Jason Statham, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Piven, and Billy Zane.
“At this stage of my life, it’s time to tell these fascinating stories about men everyone knows,” she explained. “Maybe I met all these famous people for a reason—so the world can see how a girl from China, who knew no one, ended up crossing paths with them.”
With over 200 pages already written, Ling says her memoir was partly inspired by Britney Spears’ own tell-all book. She has no plans to hold back on the details of her encounters with rock stars and movie icons.
“There are so many lovers that I don’t even remember how many. Nobody has experienced a love story quite like mine,” she admitted, adding that she has had to edit out some names.
Aware of potential backlash, Ling consulted legal experts before deciding to disclose real names. “I was concerned, but I asked a lawyer, and he said if it’s true, I can use real names. So I will—because it is the truth,” she stated.
She also insists her book presents these relationships in a “positive, romantic light.”
Once the memoir is complete, Ling plans to promote it alongside her new film, My Quarantine Romance With Toilet Paper, which she wrote, produced, and created the soundtrack for.
Ling is best known for her roles in films such as The Crow (1994), Nixon (1995), Red Corner (1997), Wild Wild West (1999), Anna and the King (1999), Dumplings (2004), Southland Tales (2006), Crank: High Voltage (2009), and Maximum Impact (2017).
Her television credits include Touched By An Angel (1998), Entourage (2005), Lost (2007), Hawaii Five-0 (2012), and Great Kills (2023).
