Abuja-FCT: Woman Arrested For Attempting To Sell Stolen 3-Year-Old Boy

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly attempting to sell a 3-year-old boy, whom she falsely claimed was her son, for N1.5 million.

According to police sources, the suspect, identified as Hana Yusuf from Kpaduma II Village, approached a resident, Isaac Tom, on March 18, 2025, seeking assistance in finding a buyer for the child.

Disturbed by the request, Tom immediately reported the matter to the Asokoro Police Division.

In response, police operatives set up a sting operation, with ASP Promise Gandi posing as a potential buyer. The suspect was lured to a meeting location, where she was arrested, and the child was safely rescued.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the boy, Yusuf Ibrahim, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mariam Ibrahim of Kpaduma II, Guzape. The police have since reunited him with his parents while continuing further inquiries.

The suspect remains in custody and is undergoing interrogation. Authorities confirmed that she will face charges in court upon the completion of the investigation.
