A 32-year-old man, identified as Rayyanu, was discovered dead inside a mosque after attending the early morning Subhi prayer in the Paso community, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
Confirming the incident, a local resident, Ibrahim Musa, stated that it occurred on Tuesday at approximately 5:56 a.m. when Rayyanu arrived at the mosque to perform his prayers.
According to Musa, after completing the prayers, Rayyanu, who had arrived on a motorcycle, decided to rest for a while but passed away in his sleep.
“It was around 7:28 a.m. when some mosque cleaners found him lying there. They attempted to wake him up to clean the mosque, but he was unresponsive,” Musa said.
The cleaners raised an alarm, drawing the attention of Muslim elders in the community. They quickly transported the man to a hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed his death.
The deceased was later identified and handed over to his family for burial.
