South African sensation Tyla Laura Seethal, widely known as Tyla, has been crowned World Artist of the Year at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The 23-year-old singer, best known for her global hit “Water”, made history as the first-ever winner of this newly introduced category, surpassing Nigerian superstars Tems and Burna Boy, as well as Central Cee and YG Marley.
The awards ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, March 17, 2025, celebrated some of the biggest names in music.

- Taylor Swift won Artist of the Year and received recognition for her record-breaking Eras Tour, dubbed the Tour of the Century.
- Mariah Carey was honored with the iHeartRadio Icon Award.
