Doctors at the Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag, India, successfully removed a large, snake-like worm from the nostril of a 9-year-old boy on Tuesday, February 18.
According to the doctors, the boy had been experiencing weight loss and a reduced appetite in recent days. His parents noticed the worm emerging from his nose on several occasions, prompting them to take him to the hospital.
A hospital spokesperson explained that the boy arrived at the department with a tail-like object protruding from his nostril. Upon examination by ENT resident Dr. Kishan, it was suspected that a large worm was lodged in his nasal passage.
After consulting with Dr. Aamir, Head of the ENT Department, suction was applied, and the worm was successfully removed.
The extracted specimen will be sent to a forensic lab for analysis to confirm its exact nature.
