Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kicked off the 2025 Invictus Games with a heartfelt and romantic moment in Vancouver, Canada.
At the friends and family dinner ahead of the competition, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, took the stage, admitting she hadn’t originally planned to speak. However, she couldn’t resist delivering a touching introduction for her husband.
As Harry walked onto the stage, Meghan greeted him with a passionate kiss, prompting cheers from the crowd.

During her speech, Meghan praised Harry’s dedication to the Games and his unwavering support for the competitors. “You will see him at the Games. You will see him probably curling with you, cheering you on,” she said, adding, “He’s in it with you, and you’ll see him through all of those moments. He’ll be there with you.”
She also shared a sweet insight into their family life, mentioning their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. “What you won’t have seen is all of the moments leading up to these Games—the morning rush, getting ready for school, packing lunch boxes, making breakfast.”
Meghan revealed that even amid the family’s busy routine, Invictus is always on Harry’s mind. “My husband’s in all of that with us, and then he’ll be on his phone, and Archie will ask: ‘Papa, why are you on your phone?’ And he’ll say: ‘That’s Invictus. I’m getting ready for Invictus.’”
Emphasizing how much the Games mean to him, she told the audience: “You are his family, just as we are his family, and I hope you recognize how much of his heart he has poured into every single thing that has brought you to this week, which is going to be spectacular.”
She concluded by expressing her family’s support: “I need you to know how much this means to him and how much each of you means to him,” before adding that their “sweet children” are “cheering everyone on from California.”
