An Australian couple has described their distressing experience after being forced to sit next to a deceased passenger for several hours on a Qatar Airways flight.

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin recounted the ordeal during an interview on the Australian news program A Current Affair.

The incident occurred last week while they were traveling on a Qatar Airways flight. According to the couple, a female passenger collapsed and passed away shortly after exiting the bathroom.

“Unfortunately, the lady couldn’t be saved, which was pretty heartbreaking to watch,” Ring told the program. “They tried to wheel her up towards business class, but she was quite a large lady and they couldn’t get her through the aisle.”

As a result, the flight crew placed the woman’s body in their row for the remaining four hours of the journey. The couple claims they were not offered alternative seating and described the experience as deeply traumatic.

In response, Qatar Airways issued an apology, expressing condolences to the deceased passenger’s family. In a statement shared by NBC News, the airline acknowledged the distress caused by the situation and assured that they were reaching out to affected passengers.

Despite the unsettling experience, Ring and Colin continued their journey to Venice, Italy, and attempted to move past the ordeal.
