Update: Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy Opens Up About Tragic Death In Emotional Interview

In her first public interview since the tragic passing of singer Liam Payne, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy has shared her emotional account of his final days in Argentina.

Cassidy, who had departed the country just four days before Payne’s death, tearfully admitted that she wished she could have stayed longer and was unaware of the events that would unfold.

In a heart-wrenching conversation with The Sun, Cassidy revealed that she and Payne had initially planned a week-long trip to Argentina, but her departure was premature due to their responsibilities, including caring for their dog. “I never would have thought this event would have occurred,” she said, expressing her shock and devastation.

Cassidy described Payne as being in a “good headspace” when she left, but acknowledged that addiction can be unpredictable. She shared that she had stuck by Payne “through thick and thin” and believed in the optimism of love, hoping that everything would work out in the end.

However, the news of Payne’s death came as a shock to Cassidy, who was home alone when she first heard the news. She described her initial reaction as a blur, hoping it was a lie, and said she felt numb when she finally accepted the reality of the situation.

The weight of Payne’s death finally hit Cassidy when she visited their new home, which she had started decorating for Halloween. She now thinks of him “every second of every day” and has been seeking support from a grief counselor since his passing.

Following the interview, Cassidy shared a statement on Instagram, calling the last few months “heartbreaking” and describing Payne as “the love of my life.” She also explained that she agreed to the interview at the request of his fans who sought clarity.

In a touching tribute to Payne, Cassidy posted a heartfelt message on social media, accompanied by a 90-second TikTok video of their moments together. The video showed the couple blowing kisses, watching fireworks, and playfully fighting over snacks. The caption read, “I love you.”

Cassidy had previously shared a tribute to Payne on Instagram, expressing her grief and loss. “Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel,” she wrote.

Payne tragically passed away on October 16. The judge in the case charged his friend, Roger Nores, and two hotel workers with involuntary manslaughter, while two others were jailed for allegedly selling Payne drugs. A toxicology report revealed that Payne had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant in his system at the time of his fall.
