The divorce settlement between former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and his ex-wife, Patricia, has been finalized, revealing some unusual terms. The 72-year-old politician and his 52-year-old ex-wife ended their seven-year marriage in an LA County Superior Court last week.
According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, Villaraigosa will retain their $3.5 million Beverly Hills home, his pension, and a 2024 Volvo XC60. He also secured custody of their shared Netflix account, forcing Patricia to open her own account if she wants to continue streaming.
Patricia is required to revert to her maiden name, Govea, with the court noting concerns that she might use Villaraigosa’s surname for business purposes. As of December 2024, she is forbidden from using the name “Villaraigosa” for any social, marketing, or business ventures.
In addition to the name change, Govea received $550,000 from Villaraigosa, along with $100,000 for professional fees and costs. She also walked away with two properties in Mexico, a 2016 Range Rover Evoque, her fashion business, and all her personal possessions, including furniture, art, clothing, and jewelry.
Villaraigosa, a prominent Democrat and former mayor from 2005 to 2013, also agreed to pay Govea $200,000 for a real estate payment she made.
The divorce follows his announcement that he would run for governor of California in 2026, after previously losing the 2018 race.
