A vile thug attacked his girlfriend while she was recovering in hospital just hours after giving birth to their baby son.
Neil Jones, 28, subjected Olivia McMahon to a series of vicious assaults over the course of around two years, including repeatedly attacking her while she was pregnant with his child.
Jones’ ‘despicable’ behaviour continued after his son was born with the brute punching Ms McMahon in the face as the tiny baby lay next to her in his cot.
Youth club volunteer Jones, who is from Liverpool, also stalked Ms McMahon from a fake Facebook account under the pseudonym ‘Bobby Firmino’ after she tried to cut ties with him.
Jones was jailed for 30 months and handed a 10-year restraining order on Monday at Liverpool Crown Court.

Two women stormed out of the sentence hearing labelling the victim a ‘grass’ after the domestic abuser was sent to prison.
The court heard that Ms McMahon had been with Jones, of Saltergate Road in Dingle, for around two years, although their relationship was said to have ‘changed’ after he lost his job in November 2022.
Jones first turned violent on December 4 that year after the couple began arguing over her speaking to another man while they were attending the Christmas markets in Liverpool city centre.
The row escalated resulting in Jones dragging the complainant down a side street before kicking and punching her.
Ms McMahon was able to run away but was tracked down by Jones after being refused entry to a taxi.
They then walked together to his family home, where he began strangling her and armed himself with a knife.
When she sought refuge inside a bathroom, the defendant began banging on the locked door while threatening: ‘I’ll kill you.’
