the Duchess of Sussex has publicly shown her support for Prince Harry as he prepares to return home. On Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share a sweet message alongside a clip from the closing ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games, writing, “So proud of you.”
Just a few days earlier, Meghan, 43, had flown back to Montecito, California, after attending the opening ceremony and other events in Canada. While the couple made joint appearances at this year’s games, Meghan reportedly planned to leave early to care for their children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
A source close to Invictus confirmed, “This was always planned. Meghan is going home to be with her children. She left the games in Dusseldorf after five days to return home.”
Upon her return to Montecito, Meghan shared a glimpse of the souvenirs she brought back for Archie and Lilibet, including chocolate bear paws, nougat, Timbits (bite-sized donuts from Tim Hortons), and personalized green jerseys. “A taste of Canada and The Invictus Games for our little ones!” she captioned the post.
Although apart for Valentine’s Day, Meghan penned a heartfelt tribute to Harry, sharing a never-before-seen photo of the two. “Back home taking care of our babies and missing my Valentine as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families.
Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created,” she wrote. She ended the post with, “My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you. #lovewins.”
While Meghan was unable to stay for the closing ceremony, Prince Harry was supported by familiar faces, including Danish royals Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. He also received a special thank-you from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who praised Harry’s dedication to the games.
“As someone you roped in early on during my time as Prime Minister, I can testify to the energy, dedication, and commitment this man has to you and this ideal,” Trudeau told athletes. “You have changed the lives of so many for the better, and for that, we all owe you the deepest debt of gratitude,” he concluded, addressing a visibly moved Prince Harry.
