The Duchess Of Edinburgh Shows Off Casual Off-Duty Style In Cargo Trousers

Duchess Sophie gave a rare glimpse of her off-duty wardrobe as she concluded her official tour of Nepal this week.

During her six-day visit to South Asia with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, Sophie opted for a relaxed yet stylish look in a khaki ensemble. The couple was warmly welcomed by locals at the Gurung community centre and museum on their final day.

The Gurung villages have a long-standing history with the British Army, with many local young men joining the Brigade of Gurkhas.

The Duke and Duchess’ visit marked the strong ties between the UK and Nepal, following in the footsteps of King Charles, who visited Nepal in 1998, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who toured in 1986.

Dressing for Nepal’s climate, the 60-year-old Duchess wore khaki cargo trousers paired with a zip-up hiking jacket and a grey ribbed jumper. She accessorized with a grey scarf and opted for practical chunky brown boots.

With her blonde hair swept into a bouncy ponytail, Sophie effortlessly pulled off a more laid-back style, stepping away from her usual floral dresses and chic espadrilles. Throughout the tour, the mother-of-two showcased a variety of flattering and feminine outfits that highlighted her versatile fashion sense.
