Hosted by David Tennant at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, the 2025 BAFTAs gathered an array of illustrious stars, including Demi Moore, Timothée Chalamet, and Saoirse Ronan, to celebrate the best films of the past year.
Warwick Davis received the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship, the highest honor awarded by the arts charity. Known for his roles in Harry Potter, Davis was recognized for his prolific acting career and his advocacy for inclusivity in the film industry.
MediCinema, a British charity that enhances the well-being of hospital patients through the power of film, was honored with the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award for their inspiring work.
The evening also featured a special performance by Take That, who performed their hit song “Greatest Day,” featured in the BAFTA-nominated film Anora.
William and Kate’s Absence at the BAFTAs
Many royal fans were disappointed when it was confirmed that Prince William would not be attending the ceremony, meaning Princess Kate was also absent.
Although a regular attendee, the Prince of Wales has missed the BAFTAs before. In 2021, he skipped the event due to the sudden passing of his grandfather. He was also unable to attend in 2022 due to “diary constraints,” and in 2024, he attended alone while Princess Kate underwent cancer treatment.
