Police in Indiana say they thwarted a Valentine’s Day mass shooting that a teen girl was allegedly plotting at her high school.
Trinity Shockley, 18, was arrested this week within days of police uncovering a plot to shoot up the Mooresville High School, located southwest of Indianapolis, USA authorities said.
A tipoff came from the FBI Tuesday evening, Feb. 11, about an alleged attack on the school, and Mooresville police raided Shockley’s home and arrested her.
According to Fox 59, she is being held without bail after being charged with conspiracy to commit murder, threat to commit terrorism and conspiracy to commit intimidation.
If successful, the shooting would have fallen on the seventh anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., which claimed 17 lives in 2018.
Shockley was previously the center of a Mooresville community fundraiser after she was hit by a drunk driver on her way to school in 2022.
She was left with head injuries and numerous broken bones after her 2022 accident, a GoFundMe set up by her family at the time showed.
She was unable to walk for days after the accident, which happened when she was just 15.
