U.S. President Donald Trump is set to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, making him the first sitting president to do so, according to a White House official speaking to NBC News.
The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the game, which is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET. This will mark the Chiefs’ third consecutive appearance at the Super Bowl.
In addition to attending the game, Trump is scheduled to appear for an interview on Fox News with Bret Baier. The interview, which will be pre-recorded at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, is set to air during the Fox pregame show at 3 p.m. ET.
Trump has made several high-profile football appearances recently, including delivering a virtual address at the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on January 20, following his inauguration, and attending a Jets-Steelers game in Pittsburgh last October.
This will be the first time in three years that a U.S. president has participated in a network interview during the Super Bowl pregame coverage. In 2023 and 2024, President Joe Biden declined interview requests from both Fox News and CBS News.
