Shakira has revealed she is ‘currently hospitalized’ after suffering abdominal issues on Saturday night.
The Hips Don’t Lie songstress, 48, announced she was taken to the ER Saturday night in a statement posted to her Instagram Stories.
Shakira has also revealed she is now cancelling her show in Lima, Peru today after doctor’s determined she was not well enough to hit the stage.
‘I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,’ she began in her statement.
‘The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.’

‘I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru.’
‘My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you.’
‘Thank you all for your understanding. I love you all,’ she wrote, signing off with ‘Shak.’
The singer is currently in the midst of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour – which officially kicked off this week on Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The tour is her first in seven years and is named after her 12th studio album which dropped last year in March 2024.
Shakira’s next concert is set for February 20 in Columbia, and she will make stops in other countries such as Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Canada and the United States.
