The Swedish royal family had a special reason to celebrate this weekend as Princess Estelle, daughter of Crown Princess Victoria, turned 13 on Sunday, February 23.
To mark the milestone, the royal family released a stunning new portrait of the young princess posing in front of a vibrant floral arrangement featuring lime green accents, pink roses, and peach-toned blooms.
Seated gracefully on a plush, padded chair, Estelle radiated happiness, dressed in an elegant dove-grey knitted jumper with cropped sleeves and a matching skirt. She styled her blonde hair in soft waves and accessorized with delicate heart-shaped stud earrings, a heart locket, and a pearl bracelet.
The Swedish royal family’s official social media shared the portrait with the caption: “Happy 13th birthday, Princess Estelle!”, tagging photographer Kate Gabor.
Royal fans were quick to send their well-wishes in the comments, with messages such as: “Warmest birthday wishes, Princess Estelle!”, “What a beautiful portrait! Happy Birthday!”, and “13 already—time flies! Happy birthday, Princess Estelle!”
Born on February 23, 2012, in Solna, Stockholm, Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland, is second in line to the Swedish throne after her mother. One day, she is expected to become queen.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, who married on June 19, 2010, at Stockholm Cathedral, are also parents to Prince Oscar. Their wedding was a grand affair, attended by royals from around the world, including Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie.
