Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Princess Anne’s husband, made a cheerful return to royal engagements despite his recent injury. He was all smiles as he attended the Science and Innovation Park in Wroughton, Swindon, on Tuesday.
The Wiltshire Lieutenancy’s official X account shared several photos from the visit, including a heartwarming shot of Sir Timothy posing with his crutches.
Despite the setback, he appeared in good spirits and showed a keen interest in the park’s cutting-edge exhibits. While the specifics of his injury remain private, his appearance suggests he is steadily recovering.
Last month, Sir Tim missed the Princess Royal’s two-day visit to South Africa due to his injury, believed to be a torn ligament sustained while working on the Gatcombe estate.
This isn’t his first mishap, as Sir Tim also suffered a minor injury last year during a gardening incident involving fencing. Days later, he was seen with a black eye at the 200th anniversary service of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) at Westminster Abbey, attended by the Duke of Kent, RNLI’s president.
Sir Timothy has been a steadfast presence at Princess Anne’s side since they met in the 1980s. He has supported her through significant moments in her life, including the deaths of her parents, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.
The couple frequently attends royal events together, including garden parties, engagements, and King Charles’ coronation. Though they don’t have children together, Sir Timothy is a supportive stepfather to Anne’s children from her previous marriage, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall.
