At the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler, Prince Harry was gifted a special bracelet engraved with the phrase “Whoever saves one life saves the world” to honor his life-changing work with the Games.
The Invictus Games, launched by Harry in 2014, aim to support veterans worldwide following the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. During a semi-final sitting volleyball match between Team UK and Team Nigeria, Olga Rudnieva, CEO of Ukraine’s Superhumans rehabilitation center, presented the bracelet to Harry.
“We had a meaningful conversation because we need to learn from other countries,” Olga said. “We gave him the bracelet and a T-shirt because he has been supporting the Ukrainian team, and all Ukrainians are deeply moved by that.”
Ksenia Ilenkiv, fundraising manager for Superhumans, added, “Harry wrapped a Ukrainian flag around one of our patients during a medal ceremony in Whistler, and it went viral in Ukraine. UK support is crucial for us.”
Superhumans, founded in 2023, offers facial and limb reconstruction, prosthetic rehabilitation, psychological support, and social reintegration. The center assists around 3,000 patients annually. Ambassadors for the organization include Sting and Bear Grylls, with First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska serving as a board member.
The Invictus Games, inspired by the US Warrior Games, is a biannual event for wounded, injured, and sick military personnel that promotes recovery, community, and unity among veterans and their families. Previous editions were held in London (2014), Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017), Sydney (2018), The Hague (2020), and Düsseldorf (2023). The 2025 event features more than 550 participants from 23 nations.
