Nollywood Loses Renowned Actor Columbus Irisoanga

The Nollywood industry has suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of actor and senior lecturer Columbus Irisoanga. According to his colleague, actress Hilda Dokubo, Irisoanga has left this world behind.

Dokubo took to Instagram to pay her respects, expressing her grief with the following words: “There’s no shortage of angels in heaven, so it’s not uncommon for the few we have on earth to be called home suddenly.

“This particular loss is a heavy blow to the Rivers State and Uniport Nollywood community.” She further announced his passing, stating, “Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord.”

Beyond his acting profession, Irisoanga was a respected senior lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, where he taught Theatre Arts students. He is known for his iconic role as the chief priest “Igbudu” in the 2001 movie Isakaba and continued to act in Nollywood films until his untimely death.

His legacy will be deeply missed, and the Nollywood community will undoubtedly feel the void left by this talented individual.
