Meghan Markle’s Subtle Way Of Encouraging Archie And Lilibet To Embrace Charity

Meghan Markle has always been passionate about philanthropy, a commitment she has deepened throughout her marriage to Prince Harry. Now, she is ensuring that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, grow up with the same values.

Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex unveiled a delicate red heart necklace in a video announcing the launch of her new brand, As Ever. Fans quickly noticed that the pendant appeared to be engraved with the initials “A” and “L,” a touching tribute to her children.

What makes the necklace even more special is its charitable impact. Created by The Gold Album in collaboration with CHLA Heart Ambassador Kelly McKee Zajfen, 15% of all sales from the piece support the organization’s mission to provide top-tier pediatric cardiac care in a child-friendly environment. CHLA serves children across the U.S. and over 75 countries, boasting the highest-performing pediatric cardiac program in the Western United States.

Teaching Archie and Lilibet the Importance of Giving Back

Meghan and Harry are dedicated to instilling charitable values in their children, something Meghan herself was taught from a young age.

In an interview with The Cut for The New York Times, Meghan shared a touching moment that highlighted how she is teaching Archie about compassion. Journalist Allison P. Davis, who accompanied Meghan to pick Archie up from school, described how Meghan gently reminded her son to say “please” and “thank you.”

She also recalled how, at a stoplight, Meghan reached into the trunk and handed a black backpack to her security detail to give to a homeless man on the corner. The backpack contained essential items, including water, peanut butter crackers, and granola bars—part of an effort to teach Archie that while some people live in big houses and others in small, some have no home at all.

A Family Committed to Service

Meghan and Harry continue to be actively involved in charitable work. Just last month, they assisted families affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, donating to the Altadena Girls Fire Recovery Fund and bringing essentials such as clothing, beauty products, and food for volunteers.

Now raising their family in California, the couple remains committed to making a difference—both through their own actions and by passing on those values to Archie and Lilibet.
