Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has expressed her views on feminism, emphasizing that while she identifies as a feminist, she does not support women disrespecting their husbands.
During an interview with skitmaker Kamo State and his wife, the mother of two shared her perspective, stating that she does not believe women are the weaker sex.
“I’m a feminist, but I do not support a woman disrespecting her husband. Do what is right. I believe that we are not the weaker sex or vessel. Men are supposed to treat us specially and respect us. Men should not feel that a woman belongs to the kitchen or should be spoken to anyhow,” she said.
Funke further highlighted the importance of women’s financial independence, stating, “We women are strong and bold. Our economic power is important, which is why we must ensure we have financial security so we can support our husbands.”

Following her statement, many social media users shared their thoughts, with some advising her to avoid discussing feminist topics.
