Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a heartwarming entrance at the Invictus Games 2025 opening ceremony on Saturday, February 8, receiving an enthusiastic welcome from the crowd at BC Place in Vancouver.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, both 43, arrived hand in hand, exchanging affectionate glances throughout the evening. Meghan was seen dancing along to performances by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Katy Perry, and Nelly Furtado, capturing special moments on her phone.
The highlight of the evening was Prince Harry’s moving speech, which left many competitors emotional. He reflected on the spirit of the Invictus Games, the resilience of the participants, and the deep sense of unity among nations.
In his address, he honored the First Nations hosting the Games, emphasized the importance of perseverance, and reminded attendees that “Invictus didn’t save you. You saved yourself.” He encouraged competitors to “show the world your fearlessness” and prove why they are Invictus.
The Invictus Games 2025 marks a historic milestone, being the first edition to feature winter sports, and the opening ceremony set the tone for a week of incredible competition, camaraderie, and inspiration.
