The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 22-year-old man, Luka James, for allegedly abducting and assaulting a 15-year-old girl, leading to her being rendered unconscious in the Michika Local Government Area of the state.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the police spokesperson, revealed in a statement issued on Sunday, February 2, 2025, that James, a resident of Gwalantabal village in Song Local Government Area, was arrested following a report from Yohanna Begie, a local resident of Nkafa village.
The report indicated that on January 31, 2025, the victim was on her way to school when James, in collaboration with an accomplice named Emmanuel, who is currently at large, abducted her into a nearby wooded area and assaulted her.
The girl was discovered unconscious at the scene and was immediately transported to a hospital, where she is currently receiving medical care.
Commissioner of Police, CP Damkombo Morris, expressed grave concern over the incident and has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to oversee the investigation and ensure that justice is served.
The Commissioner also urged the public, particularly parents, to closely monitor their children and report any suspicious activities to the police promptly.
