Rapper 2 Low accidentally discharged a gun during a podcast recording with rap legend Mike D, which was featured on the premiere episode of season two.
The two were having a conversation about 2 Low’s early career and future plans. The 46-year-old artist, known for his work with Funky Lil Brotha, signed his first contract at 12 and was incarcerated for the first time at 15.
As they discussed the significance of the choices people make, a sudden loud bang was heard from 2 Low’s pocket, halting the conversation.
Looking startled, 2 Low checked to see if he was injured while Mike D calmly asked, “Who shot who? Somebody got shot?” An off-camera voice inquired, “You good Low?”
2 Low replied, “I hope… y’all good?”
The veteran host and former member of Screwed Up Click quickly ended the episode after the incident.
“Man, only on the Dirty Third One on One with Mike D. I thought my (expletive) shot me!” he said. The off-camera voice asked again, “You good Low?” to which 2 Low responded, “I hope.”
“This has never happened on One on One with Mike D. Where you at, Low?” Mike D asked.
In response, 2 Low said, “Right now, man, we’re just grateful that everybody’s safe, good, and cool.”
The host later shared the video on YouTube, describing the incident: “X Rap a Lot artist 2 Low almost (gun emoji) himself on camera. Thank God everyone was OK.”
