Update: Liam Payne’s Cause Of Death Confirmed Three Months After Tragic Fall

The cause of death for late singer Liam Payne has been confirmed following an inquest in the UK, three months after the One Direction star tragically fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Payne, who was staying at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, fell to his death on October 16 after a drinking and drug binge. His medical cause of death has been officially stated as “polytrauma,” meaning multiple traumatic injuries sustained to his body.

A hearing at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court on December 17 indicated that it may take some time to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the 31-year-old’s death.

In Argentina, five people have been charged in connection with Payne’s death after he fell from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel. Charges include manslaughter against hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, and Payne’s friend Roger Nores. Two others, Ezequiel Pereyra and Braian Paiz, have been charged with supplying drugs, specifically cocaine.

Nores is accused of manslaughter for allegedly abandoning Payne, knowing he was incapable of caring for himself due to his struggles with addiction.

The inquest into Payne’s death in the UK has been adjourned until a pre-inquest review scheduled for November 6.

Payne, who was a member of the globally successful boyband One Direction, was formally identified with the assistance of funeral directors in Buckinghamshire. The band, formed on The X Factor by Simon Cowell, became an international sensation before their split in 2016 following Zayn Malik’s departure.
