Thirty-two-year-old gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi has confessed to murdering his alleged girlfriend, 24-year-old Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who worked at Nicon Insurance in Abuja. Ajayi claimed he committed the act because she was “always cheating” on him.
Salome was killed during a visit to Ajayi’s residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. On Sunday, January 12, Ajayi was apprehended while attempting to dispose of Salome’s severed head after dismembering her body.
During his public confession, Ajayi, paraded alongside the knife and machete used in the crime, admitted to the killing but insisted it was unplanned.
“I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time. It’s not something I planned. It happened on that day. She was cheating, hiding things from me. I found chats with other men on her phone, and that’s what led to it,” he explained.
Ajayi also expressed no remorse for his actions.
“I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal. That’s what I thought. If you must do something to someone, it should be reciprocal. You need to understand what that person is going through. That’s why I don’t have any regrets—we were actually compatible,” he stated.
The shocking confession has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice for Salome.
