Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, has shared the advice Jay-Z gave her after she seemingly liked an Instagram post about the r*pe allegations against him.
Tina, 70, previously claimed that her Instagram account was hacked after she liked a post reporting that her son-in-law, Jay-Z, was accused of gang r*ping a 13-year-old girl along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
During an appearance on Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast, Tina recalled Jay-Z’s reaction: “My son-in-law, Jay, will say, ‘Listen, if you’re gonna reply to somebody, at least spell your words right. Don’t misspell your words, Ma. You can’t do that. Take your time and go over and spellcheck your stuff!’”
Tina responded, saying, “I don’t have time for that.”
She also shared that her granddaughter, Blue Ivy, has given her some advice of her own. Tina explained, “Every once in a while, I’ll get a call from Blue, and she’ll say, ‘Grandma, that’s really whack what you just did. That’s really whack. You should delete that.’” Tina humorously added, “I’m like, ‘Girl, I’m on to the next thing,’ and all the comments are like, ‘There you go again, Miss Tina.’”
Tina admitted that sometimes she accidentally likes negative stories about her family on social media. “Because if I’m busy and I’m going through the feed, I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s Beyoncé with so and so.’ I like that. And then the fans come back and say, ‘Miss Tina, please erase that because you’re liking some negative post.’”
After liking the post about Jay-Z, Tina wrote, “I was hacked! As you all know, I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me, just know it is not me.” She added in the caption, “Please stop playing with me!!!! ‘No weapon formed against my family shall prosper.’”
The post in question, shared via @abc7Chicago, was titled: “Breaking news: Jay-Z, Diddy named in lawsuit alleging rape of girl, 13.”
Jay-Z has denied the allegations, which claim the assault occurred at a VMA afterparty in September 2000, with an unidentified female celebrity present. He responded to the lawsuit by accusing the victim of attempting to blackmail him.
