A teenage thug who left a 19-year-old woman with a bleed on the brain after he punched her unconscious on a night out has avoided jail.
Cameron Parry, also 19, was given a three-month suspended sentence for the horror attack that unfolded in Nottingham city centre on March 30 last year.
He was caught on CCTV punching the victim to the ground following an argument that went on for around five to ten minutes.
The young woman said she initially confronted Parry, who she did not know, after he hurled insults at her as she walked past on Goldsmith Street.
She started filming him but Parry knocked the phone out of her hand, before picking it up and throwing it onto the nearby tram track.
CCTV then shows Parry twice shove her in Forman Street, including once to the ground, before the confrontation continued into Milton Street.
As he went to get into a taxi, the woman tried to hit him – prompting Parry to punch her several times in the face.
She then fell backwards and hit her head on the pavement, knocking her unconscious. Hospital tests later found she had a small bleed on the brain.
Parry, now 20, from Bestwood, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.
The court heard Parry had no previous convictions and was subsequently given a three-month custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He is also subject to a six-month curfew and will be electronically monitored to ensure he stays home between the hours of 9pm and 6am.
