A South African woman, identified as Manapo Mokoena, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her child in Bethlehem, located in the Free State province.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, was brought to light when a witness shared photos on Facebook. According to reports, the altercation began after the child lost R37.
In a shocking statement, the woman admitted, “That’s why I slapped her with my hand, and my intention was to kill her with my hand.”
Social workers from the government intervened, taking the child to a hospital for medical care, while police apprehended the woman.
The child’s stepfather revealed that this was not the first instance of such violent behavior, stating that the woman had previously beaten the child in a similar manner.
