The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended a woman named Jessica for allegedly stripping a 13-year-old girl and inserting pepper into her private parts, following an alleged assault by Jessica’s husband.
The incident reportedly took place in the Rukpokwu area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Sunday, December 29, 2024.
The girl’s mother, who identified herself as Goodness, recounted the disturbing events. She was at work when she received a call informing her that her neighbor, Jessica, was assaulting her daughter. By the time she returned home, neighbors had already intervened and rescued the girl.
Goodness explained that Jessica’s husband, identified as Ebuka, had previously assaulted her daughter, prompting Jessica’s wife to confront the girl. “My neighbor raped my daughter and then fled. His wife was searching for her, but when I asked what was wrong, she claimed nothing was the matter,” she stated.
She continued, “Unfortunately, Jessica deceived my daughter into coming to her house where she beat her and applied pepper to her body and private parts. While I was at my shop, I received calls informing me that my daughter was suffering from the beating inflicted by Jessica’s wife.”
Upon arriving home, Goodness found her daughter in distress, with pepper smeared across her body. The girl told her mother about the severe beating she had received at the hands of Jessica. “Jessica accused my daughter of being involved with her husband, which led to the assault and the pepper treatment,” Goodness said.
Distraught, she promptly reported the incident to the Rumuokoro Police Station, resulting in Jessica’s arrest.
Regarding the initial assault, Goodness shared, “Upon questioning, my daughter revealed that on Christmas Day, a female neighbor, a friend of Jessica, had taken her to their house. Shortly after, Jessica’s husband, Ebuka, sent both the wife and her friend out on an errand. While they were away, he allegedly assaulted my daughter, threatening her if she resisted.”
“After the attack, he allowed her to leave, but she kept it a secret due to his threats. Since that day, Ebuka has not been seen,” she added.
