Queen Camilla Makes Heartwarming Promise To Young Girl Hoping To Be A Princess

The Queen was delighted when she received a drawing from the daughter of Olympic horsewoman Ros Canter, who expressed her dream of becoming a princess.

Camilla couldn’t help but giggle as Ros presented the artwork, sharing that her five-year-old daughter, Ziggy, had asked her to deliver it. “My daughter was quite jealous that I was coming here,” Ros explained to Her Majesty, adding, “She wants to be a princess.”

“That’s very sweet. Please tell her I will write her a letter,” the Queen replied warmly.

Ros later shared, “She was thrilled by it! Ziggy said she would write back, which is amazing. She’ll be the talk of her school and will be so proud of that!”

Camilla met Ros and six of her teammates from the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic equestrian team as she hosted a reception at Clarence House for them, along with the grooms, owners, coaches, and managers who contributed to their successful journey during last summer’s Games.

Among the guests were Paralympians Natasha Baker, Sophie Wells, Georgia Wilson, and Mari Durward-Akhurst, who collectively brought home one silver and six bronze medals.

Natasha shared, “We talked about it being my fourth Paralympics and how I’ve become quite the seasoned pro. We also discussed where we keep our medals. I keep mine in socks since the boxes are too big to fit in my handbag, and putting them in socks prevents them from clanging together and getting damaged.”

“Clean socks!” she quickly clarified, adding that the Queen found it hilarious.

Natasha emphasized, “She is incredibly knowledgeable about horses and equestrian sports and is so supportive of us. It’s such an honor for us to be invited to events like this and to meet her. She’s truly passionate about our sport, follows our journey through the Games, and always shows interest in what’s coming up next for us, which is wonderful.”
