The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chosen to raise their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, away from the public eye.
However, Meghan’s return to Instagram has provided a glimpse into their lives, with the mother-of-two sharing several previously unseen photos of her children – and Princess Lilibet’s hair has grown incredibly long!
In a touching post commemorating the loss of her beloved Beagle, Guy, Meghan shared a heartfelt montage of her favorite moments with her dog. Among the new photos, one shows the Duchess enjoying a summer picnic with Lilibet and their three dogs – Guy, Pula, and Mamma Mia.
As little Lilibet runs through the grass, her long, fiery auburn hair flows past her shoulders in the breeze, much longer than in the last official photo shared of her. She wears a charming broderie anglaise dress in the sweet moment. Meghan, too, looks radiant, her hair styled in voluminous waves that cascade down her back.
In October 2023, during the WellChild Awards, Prince Harry, a long-time patron of the charity, spoke about his children’s hair, revealing how both Archie and Lilibet had inherited their mother’s thick locks.
“Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother’s thick hair,” he remarked, noting that it wouldn’t be long before Lilibet’s hair reached her waist.
Though Archie and Lilibet rarely appear in public, they’ve been featured in their parents’ Netflix series and on past Sussex family Christmas cards.
Their striking red hair is a noticeable feature, with Archie’s hair evolving from a bright red to a deeper auburn, while Lilibet’s hair sometimes appears almost blonde depending on the lighting.
Prince Harry has openly discussed how their children’s red hair reflects his own “ginger genes.”
In a candid interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he joked, “The Spencer gene is very, very strong. I genuinely thought when I started my relationship with Meghan that if we had kids, there was no way the ginger gene would survive against her genes, but I was wrong!”
