The Princess of Wales made her first official engagement of 2025 last week, visiting cancer patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital. However, reports reveal that she made a discreet visit to the same hospital just before Christmas.
According to MailOnline, Princess Kate returned quietly to the Royal Marsden, where she had previously undergone chemotherapy, ahead of her annual Sandringham holiday celebrations.
The 43-year-old was reportedly “escorted through a back entrance to avoid being seen, just as she was during her treatment.”
During this low-key visit, Kate brought hand-picked festive gifts and treats, including biscuits, as a gesture of gratitude to the hospital’s doctors and nurses.
A Poignant First Outing of 2025
Thursday’s visit marked a heartfelt moment for the future Queen, who expressed her appreciation to the medical teams and offered support to patients currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Reflecting on her own experience, Kate shared advice on self-care during and after treatment, saying: “I really felt like I needed to get the sun. You need loads of water and loads of sunlight.”
When a machine beeped during her conversation with a patient, Kate smiled and remarked, “I recognize that beep!”
A New Role at the Royal Marsden
During her visit, it was announced that Kate will now serve as the hospital’s joint patron alongside Prince William.
The Princess also offered words of comfort to Tina Adumou, whose 19-year-old daughter is currently in intensive care. Overcome with emotion, Tina broke down as she shared her story with Kate.
Kate responded with compassion, saying: “I’m sorry. I wish there was more I could do to help. I wanted to come and show my support for the amazing work that’s going on here and for those who are going through treatment and having such a hard time.”
She added, “Are you OK? Yes? There is light at the end of that tunnel. Very nice to meet you and best of luck. You are in the best of hands.”
