Princess Kate’s Clever Hair Trick During Her First Interview

When Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton in 2010, the couple was required to pose for an official photocall, and all eyes were on the royal fiancée.

She looked stunning in a figure-flattering midnight blue Issa dress, but the pressure of the moment was immense.

To ensure her look remained flawless, Kate had a clever trick for keeping her composure during her first-ever interview with ITV News’ Tom Bradbury.

In her book Kate: The Future Queen, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl revealed that Kate placed her hands on her lap to prevent herself from fidgeting with her hair.

This strategy not only helped her maintain a dignified posture but also kept her from touching her hair excessively.

Kate spoke with grace, using a cut-glass accent, but according to Bradbury, she was “dreading” the interview. After it was over, she sighed with relief and confessed, “I’m no good at this!”

The Importance of Kate’s Hairdo

Kate’s iconic blow-dry, with its flicked ends and face-framing shape, was created by hairstylist James Pryce from the Richard Ward salon in Chelsea. He also styled Kate’s hair for her wedding to William in April 2011.

For the royal wedding, her hair was styled in a half-updo with soft, loose curls cascading down her back.

While royal tradition typically calls for bridal hair to be worn up, Kate broke the norm by choosing a softer, more relaxed style with her hair flowing over her shoulders, reflecting her personal preference.
