Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Issue Urgent Statement Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a heartfelt statement addressing the devastating Palisades wildfires that continue to ravage Southern California.

On their official website, the couple wrote:
“In recent days, wildfires in Southern California have swept through neighborhoods, destroying homes, schools, medical centers, and more—impacting tens of thousands of people from all walks of life.

“A state of emergency has been declared. If you feel moved to help, here are some resources and suggestions.”

The couple shared links to organizations providing aid, such as World Central Kitchen and Baby2Baby. They also urged readers to take action:
“If a friend, loved one, or pet needs to evacuate and you can offer them a safe place, please do so. Check on elderly or disabled neighbors to ensure they have assistance evacuating.

“Some families have lost everything. Please consider donating essentials like clothing, children’s toys, and other necessities. The American Red Cross is actively supporting those affected.”

Although the wildfires have not directly impacted the couple’s Montecito home, their neighborhood could face power outages. Southern California Edison has warned of potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs due to the fire risk, which might prompt the couple to temporarily leave their residence with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The Palisades Fire, which began on January 7, has forced the evacuation of at least 30,000 residents in the affluent area home to many Hollywood celebrities. The fire has grown to thousands of acres with zero containment, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. It has spread to Malibu and the Pacific Coast Highway, destroying over 100 beachfront homes.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out in East Los Angeles, displacing tens of thousands more residents and claiming at least five lives. A third blaze erupted in the Hollywood Hills, threatening landmarks such as the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Bowl, which has evacuated staff. Strong winds have scattered embers, endangering more homes and lives.

Among those affected by the disaster is Paris Hilton, whose Malibu beach house was destroyed. On Instagram, she shared:
“This home held so many cherished memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps, and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London. While the loss is overwhelming, I’m deeply grateful that my family and pets are safe.”
