Since relocating to Montecito, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have largely kept their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, out of the public eye, maintaining a private family life. However, December offered rare glimpses of the young royals.

The first was through Meghan and Harry’s Christmas card featuring both siblings, and the second came via professional surfer Raimana Van Bastolaer, who shared a year-end Instagram post that included a photo of Prince Harry and his five-year-old son, Archie.

In the snapshot, Prince Harry, Prince Archie, and Raimana are seen atop a jet ski. Harry, ready for the waves in a wetsuit and holding a surfboard, is joined by Archie, seated at the front of the jet ski in a pale blue rash vest, his bare legs dangling at the sides.

Fans were thrilled by the candid moment, with one commenting, “OMG!!! His twin was with him that day? So precious. Thank you for keeping them safe,” and another adding, “Prince Archie is going to be so tall!”

Prince Harry and Archie’s Surfing Adventure

The photo is believed to have been taken in October during a surfing session with Raimana, who had previously shared footage of Harry riding the waves. This recent reveal confirms that Archie may also be developing a love for the sport.

The session took place at a manmade wave center in central California, over three hours from their Montecito home. While local beaches are ideal for surfing, the wave center offers a safer, more controlled environment for the royals.

Is Prince Archie Surfing?

While it’s unclear if Archie surfed alongside his dad or simply observed, his outfit suggests he’s ready to embrace the waves. Surfing is an excellent activity for fitness and well-being, something Prince Harry, a professional polo player, benefits from to stay in top shape.

The sport offers numerous physical benefits, including calorie burning, muscle strengthening, improved balance, and cardiovascular health. It’s a full-body workout, engaging the back, shoulders, core, and legs.

With Raimana warmly inviting Harry back for more adventures, it seems likely that the Duke of Sussex—and perhaps Archie—will continue riding the waves in 2025.
