Mike and Zara Tindall are gearing up for a special family celebration following their sun-soaked getaway. The couple recently enjoyed the Magic Millions carnival on Australia’s Gold Coast but are now preparing to mark their eldest daughter Mia’s 11th birthday on January 17.
Although their children—Mia, Lena, 6, and Lucas, 3—couldn’t join them in Australia due to school commitments, the family made the most of their time together before the trip, enjoying a day at Cheltenham racecourse. Mia and Lena were seen enthusiastically cheering on the jockeys, joined by Zara’s brother Peter Phillips and his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling.
The Tindall children are already showing an affinity for sports, much like their parents. Mia has demonstrated her talents in horse riding, football, and rugby. Former rugby star Mike, 46, shared with HELLO! that both Mia and Lena are active at Minchinhampton rugby club, though he emphasizes letting them enjoy sports without pressure.
The kids are also often spotted supporting their equestrian mum, Zara, during competitions and horse trials. While they didn’t accompany their parents on the recent Australian trip, Zara revealed to HELLO! that her children love the country, saying, “What’s not to like about sun, surf, sea, and a chilled-out atmosphere?” She added that Australia feels like a second home, especially with the family’s long-standing tradition of attending the Magic Millions carnival at the start of the year.
Before their Australian adventure, the Tindalls celebrated Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family. Mia was seen sharing a sweet moment with her second cousin, Princess Charlotte.
Mia was born in 2014 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, followed by Lena in 2018 at Stroud Maternity Hospital. Their youngest, Lucas, was born at home on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in 2021, with Mike famously announcing the news on his podcast.
