Three suspects have been arrested for assaulting and molesting a salesgirl accused of theft at Don Maserati Classic Boutique on Lagos Island, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed.
The arrests follow the circulation of a viral video over the weekend, showing the young woman being flogged by several men at the boutique. The police are continuing efforts to apprehend additional suspects and establish contact with the victim.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command, announced the arrests via his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“Three suspects have been arrested, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend others and locate the victim. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, assures Lagosians that justice will be served,” Hundeyin stated.
The incident has sparked widespread public outrage, with many condemning the actions captured in the video.
Reports suggest the assault was allegedly ordered by the boutique’s owner, who accused the employee of theft. The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action.
