A nursing mother was saved from attempting suicide at her home in Megamound Estate, Lekki-Ajah, Lagos State, after a distressing incident involving her husband and his alleged side chic.
The woman reportedly attempted to take her life after her husband allegedly told her to do so, following his arrival at home with another woman. In a desperate move, she climbed a water tank with a rope around her neck, intending to jump in what could have been a fatal act.
Her husband was reportedly present during the incident, yet did not intervene.
Actress Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, known as Bambam, was on a movie set nearby when she heard the commotion. Upon investigating, she found the woman in distress and stepped in to prevent the tragedy. Bambam shared that the woman, originally from Malawi, felt isolated in Nigeria without any family support.
The actress further alleged that the woman’s husband had multiple baby mamas and other women, contributing to the wife’s frustration. Bambam also revealed that while the woman was attempting suicide, her husband, his brothers, and the side chic were in the house with the woman’s three young children, yet no one tried to stop her.
The situation was only defused after the efforts of many, including estate security, who helped convince the woman to come down from the tank.
Omoni Oboli, whose movie set Bambam was on at the time, later confirmed that the woman is now safe and under the care of the Lagos State Government. Bambam reiterated the importance of not giving in to despair, urging others not to take their lives over the actions of others.
