King Charles Recycles Iconic Coat And Quirky Tie For Church Visit

King Charles showcased his commitment to sustainability on Sunday as he attended a church service in Norfolk, donning a coat he’s had for over 40 years.

Appearing to make a solo trip without his wife, Queen Camilla, the monarch was photographed near his Sandringham estate in a double-breasted tweed coat that has been a staple in his wardrobe since the late 1980s.

The timeless garment, crafted by Anderson & Sheppard, features a herringbone pattern, large pockets, and a wide peak lapel.

At 76, Charles has worn this coat on numerous occasions, including on Christmas Day in 2009 and in 1988 during a walk in Sandringham with his late parents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

In addition to the coat, Charles also embraced sustainability by rewearing one of his quirky ties.

The monarch chose a charming silk tie from Hermès featuring a playful print of blue owls and white cats on a blush pink background. He had previously worn the tie in February 2023 during an audience with Baerbel Bas, President of the German Bundestag, at Buckingham Palace.

A supporter of sustainable fashion, Charles has long advocated for environmentally conscious clothing choices.

In 2010, he launched The Campaign For Wool, emphasizing the importance of a circular fashion system, where textiles are produced sustainably and made from natural materials like wool that biodegrade quickly after use.

Last September, Charles’ charity, The King’s Foundation, partnered with Net-A-Porter to launch a sustainable clothing line, created by six fashion graduates during a six-month residency at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland.

The 13-piece collection focused on responsible materials, natural dyes, and timeless designs, aligning with Charles’ vision of promoting traditional skills and sustainable fashion.
