Nikki Manashe, the fiancée of Katie Price’s ex-husband Alex Reid, has voiced her displeasure with the reality TV star’s recent IVF documentary.
Katie, 46, appeared in the Channel 4 two-part series Katie Price: Making Babies, which aired earlier this week.
The documentary, filmed in 2023, followed Katie and her then-partner Carl Woods, 35, as they navigated fertility treatments in hopes of having a child together. Despite their efforts, the couple eventually separated without success.
The show has sparked reactions on social media, with Nikki, 38, among the critics. Nikki, who has been open about her own struggles with conception, reportedly labeled the documentary “attention-seeking dribble.”
Nikki and Alex, who were married from 2010 to 2012, have faced their own challenges in trying to conceive. The couple, now parents to three children, have undergone IVF treatments themselves.
In a now-deleted post, Nikki, an IVF blogger, expressed her frustration, sharing her own painful experiences with miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy, and the mental toll of infertility.
She wrote, “As an IVF survivor, who’s struggled through many years of grief and mourning the loss of pregnancies, I am sickened to the core to see such attention-seeking dribble on TV for financial gain and cheap headlines. I can’t understand how any IVF clinic would go ahead with treatment on a person like this.”
Nikki later addressed the situation in a more measured Instagram post, saying that the anniversary of her mother’s death had heightened her emotions. She acknowledged her earlier post had been removed and clarified that it was not her usual style to engage in drama.
She expressed her continued concerns about the exploitation of IVF for publicity, particularly when so many people face financial barriers to accessing treatment.
In the post, Nikki wrote, “All they want is one baby to call their own, and to see someone abuse this path for media publicity is so wrong. I continue to have my own thoughts on this matter and invite you all to make up your own opinions and draw your own conclusions.”
