Kano State: Court Punished Armed Robber To Death By Hanging

The Kano State High Court, under the guidance of Justice Nasir Saminu, sentenced Abdurrahman Yakubu to death by hanging on Wednesday after he was convicted of armed robbery.

Yakubu, a resident of Bele Local Government Area in Nassarawa State, was found guilty of several counts of armed robbery involving dangerous weapons.

Among his victims was Barrister Hajara Lawal Ahmad, whom he stole a car and an undisclosed amount of money from.

Justice Saminu stated that the prosecution, led by Barrister Umar Yakubu, had proven the case beyond a reasonable doubt, dismissing the defense presented by Abdurrahman.

The court also determined that the firearms recovered from Yakubu were illegal and being used for criminal activities, leading to the decision for his execution by hanging.
