US President Donald Trump has revealed plans to terminate thousands of White House staff members who do not align with his “Make America Great Again” vision.
The announcement was made on his social media platform, Truth Social, and was followed by the public dismissal of several senior officials in a sweeping shake-up.
In his post, Trump stated: “Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again. Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more coming soon.
Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council – YOU’RE FIRED!”
One notable dismissal was that of General Mark Milley, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His removal follows efforts by former President Joe Biden to grant him broad protection during Biden’s final days in office.
Trump had previously criticized Milley, even suggesting he deserved severe punishment.
Another prominent figure asked to step down was John Bass, the acting undersecretary for political affairs, whose role encompassed significant influence across regions such as Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
