Renowned Isoko highlife musician, Dr. Arube Otor, also known as Isoko Fela, has boldly declared his goal to father 32 children before he passes away.
At 53, Otor, who already has nine children, married three women in a grand ceremony on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, bringing his total number of wives to four.
The event took place at the Anglican Church Field London Base in Uzere Kingdom.
“I want to have 32 children, and I won’t leave this earth until I achieve that,” he stated.
Raised in a polygamous family, Otor has embraced the lifestyle, reflecting on the harmonious relationship he had with his father’s four wives as a child.
“Polygamy was never a problem in our home. We bonded well and still maintain a strong relationship,” he said.
Otor explained that he chose to hold a single reception for his three new wives as a way to save costs.
“I’ve already paid their bride prices, and we’ve been living together. The event is just a reception. Members of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria will provide the music, and the logistics for refreshments are all set. It will be a big day,” he added.
The musician, who plans to marry two more women in the future, emphasized that he ensures peace and harmony among his wives.
“If there’s a dispute, I mediate in front of the others so everyone can learn from the resolution. My wives are independent; one is a hairdresser, another is a caterer, and one is a trader,” he explained.
Despite his age, Otor is confident in his ability to fulfill his marital duties, attributing his vitality to a natural diet. He avoids rice and aphrodisiacs, believing they weaken a man.
“I don’t eat rice because it weakens a man. My diet keeps me fit and ready. I visit my wives weekly, and none of them feels neglected,” he shared.
