The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 30-year-old man, Daniel Onyejekwe, in connection with the murder of Christian Goodluck in Sapele on New Year’s Day.
SP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, shared details in a statement on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
According to Edafe, Onyejekwe asserted that he witnessed Goodluck arguing with and assaulting his mother.
The confrontation escalated into a fight between Onyejekwe and Goodluck, during which both men utilized a broken bottle.
“In this year 2025, it is important to manage your temper. The primary suspect, Daniel Onyejekwe, aged 30, from Sapele, killed Christian Goodluck on January 1, 2025,” Edafe stated.
“The suspect alleged that he found the deceased involved in a quarrel and assaulting his mother. Their confrontation involved the use of a broken bottle.
“He stabbed the deceased with the broken bottle, ultimately resulting in his death. What a tragic way to begin the new year.”
