A 70-year-old man, Mr. Aghanti, and his 50-year-old daughter, Mrs. Atagoshi, were reportedly beheaded over a land dispute in the Amai community, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.

Mrs. Atagoshi, a secondary school teacher and pastor’s wife, had previously purchased a piece of land in the area, which later became the subject of a dispute.

According to the Delta State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the suspect lured the victims into a bush under the guise of resolving the land issue. There, he killed and beheaded them.

“The suspect called the woman, claiming he wanted to discuss the land matter. He then led her and her father into the bush, where he murdered and beheaded them,” Edafe stated.

On the same day, vigilantes apprehended a man identified as Emeke, who was found in possession of two human heads. Enraged residents mobbed and set him ablaze. Upon investigation, the heads were confirmed to belong to the father and daughter.

“Their headless bodies were later discovered in the bush,” Edafe added.

The primary suspect remains at large, and efforts are underway to apprehend him.
