Borussia Dortmund Part Ways With Manager Nuri Sahin After Just Seven Months

The decision came following Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Bologna on Tuesday night, according to reports from Sky Germany and Bild.

Sahin, a former Dortmund and Real Madrid midfielder, was informed of the club’s decision alongside the team and coaching staff at their hotel in Bologna.

In a statement, Dortmund sporting director Lars Ricken expressed regret over the decision:
“We hold Nuri Sahin and his work in high regard and had hoped for a long-term partnership. Until the very end, we believed in the possibility of achieving a sporting turnaround together.

“However, after four consecutive defeats, just one win in the last nine games, and our current position of tenth in the Bundesliga table, we have regrettably lost confidence in achieving our goals under the current setup. This decision is personally painful for me but became unavoidable after the Bologna match.”

Sahin’s tenure at Dortmund has now ended abruptly, leaving the club searching for a new direction to salvage their season.
